Stormy Weather

I meant to have this post up yesterday but my dramatic weather-related wake-up call and resulting power outage kept that from happening. On the bad news front, I was without power most of the day and then scrambled to play catch up everything – and failed at some things – once we had the power back on. On the good news front, the straight-line winds (though I still think it was a microburst considering how it happened!) didn’t cause any direct damage to any of my property. They did, however, take out a lot of trees and poles nearby, knocked down the power lines, and generally made a horrid mess. Still, my part of the country is in good shape, if a bit chilly. Here’s hoping the east coast survives their latest batch of crappy winter weather.

Moving on, I am looking forward to finally settling on my first project of the year now that my health has dramatically improved – amazing what a responsive doctor will do for you! – and am planning the project out this month with an eye to completing it during April’s Camp NaNoWriMo event since I’ll be spending much of April recovering from major outpatient surgery. Still, recovery time means plenty of writing time so maybe I’ll be ahead of the game for a change.

Until next time, may the weather gods smile upon you!

Welcome Spring…

Well, I failed miserably at my planned weekly posting so I’m going to fall back on monthly posting instead until I have more news, guests, or other things to report. I may, depending on my time, inclination, and mood, occasionally post a book or movie review here as well. Those will likely be few and far between as my opinions on things, especially books, often clash with the accepted status quo when it comes to authors commenting on other authors books. Therefore, you’re more likely to see me raving and cheering for a book I comment on rather than calling it out as crap.

On a different note, those who know me from Facebook know that I’m nominally pagan nowadays. So for those who celebrate the seasons with me, Happy Spring and Merry Imbolc. May the warming of the year bring joyous blessings to all.
